Claire Little began her dance training at the age of four in Clarkston, Michigan at Mt. Zion School of Performing Arts. There she studied contemporary, modern, ballet, jazz, and hip hop under the direction of Carmen Craft, Teresa Muller, Jillian Hopper, Jared Hurd, Maria Mohrman, and several guest choreographers. Currently, she is in her fourth year at Oakland University working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. She is a member of the Repertory Dance Company and is training under Thayer Jonutz, Gregory Patterson, Stephanie Pizzo, Ali Woerner, Jennifer Harge, and Christina Tasco. She has had the opportunity to perform in both faculty pieces and works byoutside guest choreographers including: Shaun Boyle, Lauren Edson, Teresa Muller, Rebecca McLindonBlanchard, Jodie Randolph, Liz Riga, Vivian Costello, Kristi Faulkner, and a collaborative work with Eisenhower Dance Ensemble.
Claire is also getting extensive training in choreography. Under the direction of Jennifer Harge, Thayer Jonutz, and Ali Woerner, she has started to develop her own voice as a creator. She has been awarded choreography awards and has had two pieces selected into Art Lab J’s Youth Dance Race in Detroit. In March 2018, her piece Unwind was selected to perform in the adjudicated concert at the American Collegiate Dance Association festival at Ohio University. She hopes to continue growing as a choreographer and was excited to premiere her first work this year on the Oakland Dance Theatre students.
