Sam Assemany, from South Lyon, MI, received her BFA in Dance from Western Michigan University in 2015. As a colligate dancer, Sam was able to perform works by Carolyn Pavlik, Jackie Nowicki, Peter Chu, and Ohad Naharin. She had the opportunity to travel to Montreal, CA, where she worked closely with O Vertigo, Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Edgar Zendejas, and Ecole de Danse de Contemporaire. Sam also attended the ODC Next Moves intensive where she worked closely with KT Nelson, Holly Johnston, Kate Weare, Margaret Jenkins, John Heginbotham, and Nicole Klaymoon. Sam moved to New York City, NY in September 2015 to further pursue her dance career. Since residing in NYC, she has worked with, and performed works for, Mike Esperanza, Jenn Rose, Shawn Bible Dance Co., Of Bones || Hollye Bynum, Dugal Dance, and Eimile Davis. Sam is currently dancing for Jolt Dance Project, LooseKanonDance, NOW Dance Project, and Jodie Randolph Dance, and is excited to continue growing in her profession!
